My Story
Hi, I’m Yaz (Iasnaia) — Brazilian, with a little Irish spirit. Life has taken me from Copenhagen to Geneva, London, Bangkok and Amsterdam, and I’ve learned to feel at home almost anywhere. It’s why I now work as a traveling doula, attending births wherever I’m needed.
My own births, one on a houseboat in 2007 and one at home in 2011, both in Amsterdam, taught me to trust the quiet strength women carry inside them.
That trust became my purpose. Today I help women feel strong, safe and supported as they become mothers — and I’d be honoured to walk beside you.
Paramana Birth Doula
What I do as your Paramana Doula
When labour begins, I come to you and stay for as long as it takes — guiding, coaching, and offering calm, hands-on support. In over 12 years I’ve attended hundreds of births, so I understand both birth physiology and hospital protocols, and I bring completely non-judgmental care.
As a Paramana Doula, I follow the principles of undisturbed birth and the real needs of a labouring mother, drawing on the work of Lamaze, Leboyer and Michel Odent. And I don’t disappear once your baby arrives — I stay with you through those early weeks of parenthood.
My holistic approach
My approach is holistic: emotional encouragement, physical comfort, and relaxation techniques that work. I’m a certified HypnoBirthing® Educator and yoga teacher, and I’m with you before, during and after birth — including with breastfeeding. The tools I use include:
- HypnoBirthing® and breathing techniques
- Acupressure and counter-pressure
- Spinning Babies® and optimal positioning
- Rebozo
- Aromatherapy (organic oils only)
- Homeopathy for childbirth
- Visualization and relaxation
- Lactation education
Much of our work happens before labour. Preparing you and your partner well builds your confidence and clarity, so on the day your choices are clear and your voice is heard.
My wish is simple: to help you birth your baby, your way.

I am part of The Bumps and Babies team, where provide community, social, and emotional support, and evidence-based advice and information to pregnant women and new parents on topics related to pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, postnatal recovery, and infant care.
Bambi is a project of the Childbirth & Breastfeeding Foundation of Thailand (CBFT). We are a non-profit organization run by volunteer parents. Our aim is to provide support and companionship for pregnant women and parents of young children of all nationalities in Bangkok. BAMBI supports all moms whatever their birth and baby feeding choices may be. At the same time, we promote what is considered by UNICEF, the WHO, and the Thai government as ‘best practice’ to promote and support healthy moms and babies.
